Our Level 3 Mental Health First Aid course costs £295 excluding VAT (£354 including VAT) for a public place. It is a two-day, live online course for people who want to train as workplace mental health first aiders, with the qualification awarded subject to successful assessment.
For a shorter introduction, our self-paced Mental Health Awareness course costs £14 per licence and takes around one hour. These courses have different purposes: the short awareness course does not replace the Level 3 workplace first-aider qualification.
Level 1, Level 2, refresher and youth courses are available for group bookings only, live online with an instructor. Request a group quote for your chosen course. Private group training starts from £650 + VAT, depending on the course.

Level 1 and Level 2 do not qualify learners as workplace mental health first aiders. For that outcome, choose Level 3 and complete the required assessments.
What does the £295 Level 3 course include?
The public course fee is £295 excluding VAT (£354 including VAT). You attend two days of live online training via Zoom, with sessions from 9am–4pm and a maximum of eight learners per public course.
A live instructor leads discussions, answers questions and guides group activities, role-play scenarios and breakout-room tasks. You must pass two multiple-choice question papers to receive the Qualsafe Level 3 qualification. The qualification is valid for three years.
You need a computer or laptop, a webcam and a microphone to join the live class and complete course-related work and assessments. There is no journey to a training venue, but you still need to set aside the full scheduled course time.

What does the £14 online course cover?
The Online Mental Health & Wellbeing course is awareness training completed at your own pace in around one hour. It covers mental health and mental illness, supporting others, common conditions and looking after your own wellbeing.
The course is run by Online CPD Academy and finishes with a multiple-choice assessment. On completion of your course, you'll receive a Mental Health & Wellbeing Certificate accredited by RoSPA & CPD.
The published price is £14 per licence. For several learners, check the provider’s current course page and bulk pricing. This is a different purchase from booking a private instructor-led course.
How much does private group training cost?
Private training starts from £650 + VAT, depending on the course. Here, “in-house” means a private live online course for your team, delivered by an instructor via Zoom.
The private group training page sets out the course options and their published group prices. Request a quote for the course you need, rather than multiplying the public Level 3 price by your team size.
We keep our groups to a maximum of 8 learners, ensuring personalised attention, meaningful discussion, and a supportive learning environment. There is no minimum number of students required, giving you full flexibility when booking.

Which course should you budget for?
A workplace first aider
Choose Level 3. An individual can book a public place; a team can enquire about private Level 3 training. The qualification depends on passing the assessments.
Awareness and understanding
Choose the £14 self-paced course for a short introduction. For an instructor-led qualification for a group, compare the Level 1 and Level 2 courses.
Existing skills or a school team
Use the refresher route for previous training, or the youth course for educators and school staff supporting young people. Check the relevant entry requirements.
When comparing providers, compare the qualification or certificate, learning hours, live or self-paced format, assessment and whether the stated price includes VAT. A low-cost awareness course and a two-day first-aider qualification are not interchangeable.

Questions about mental health first aid course costs
Does the £295 price include VAT?
No. The public Level 3 course is £295 excluding VAT, which is £354 including VAT. Private group training starts from £650 + VAT. Check your group quote for the total cost of the course and arrangements you choose.
Can I book a public Level 1, Level 2 or refresher place?
These courses are available for group bookings only, live online with an instructor. Contact our team for a group quote. Public individual places are available for the Level 3 course; the short online awareness course is self-paced.
Does your refresher renew my original qualification?
No. Our refresher updates previous learning and does not extend the original Mental Health First Aid certificate’s validity. Our refresher page recommends an annual update for people who completed a one- or two-day course within the past three years, and repeating the full course if that training was more than three years ago. Ask the team which route fits your previous training.
Do all course certificates last for three years?
No. The Level 3 and youth course pages state three-year validity. The Level 1 page states that renewal is not required, while advising learners to keep their knowledge up to date. Check the certification information for the course you are booking rather than applying one renewal period to every course.
Are these classroom courses?
Our instructor-led courses are delivered live online. The £14 awareness course is self-paced online. Private group training is also live online, so “in-house” does not mean an instructor attending your workplace.
