Level 3 Award In Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF)

The Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid is a two-day course in MHFA, equipping learners with comprehensive insights into mental health first aid training matters.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, attendees will gain enhanced awareness of mental health, develop skills to attentively listen to others' mental health concerns, and contribute to mental health risk assessments and the drafting of policies in the workplace.

Furthermore, they will be capable of guiding individuals who may have mental health issues towards appropriate support, including healthcare professionals or national charities.

Roles and Responsibilities: Identifying the specific duties and expectations of a Mental Health First Aider and Responder.

Attributes and Behaviors: Outlining the essential qualities and actions of a competent Mental Health First Aider.

Mental Health Action Plan Protocol (DR EFG): Learning a structured approach to addressing mental health issues.

Supporting Return to Work: Guiding how to assist an individual (and their line manager) in returning to work after an absence due to mental health concerns.

Physical First Aid Skills: Applying physical first aid techniques in response to mental health emergencies.

Risk Assessment: Conducting a thorough risk assessment when providing support.

Identifying Medical Emergencies and Imminent Threats: Differentiating between a medical emergency and a life-threatening situation, including the identification of mental health conditions that may be critical.

This course is suitable for those looking to understand and improve their knowledge about mental health and to learn the skills to support their own and others’ positive wellbeing in the workplace.
