Choosing appropriate local information in Norwich

Norwich City Council’s support directory distinguishes between different audiences and types of help. Its mental health listings include the Wellbeing Service and Mancroft Advice Project, with separate information for young people. That distinction is useful when a workplace includes employees of different ages or people supporting family members.

Label the audience clearly

Avoid copying a long list of service names without explaining who each is intended for. Retain the provider’s own age and access information when preparing a staff pack, and ask colleagues to check current details directly.

Include practical advice separately

The council’s wider directory covers issues such as money, housing and tenancy support. Keep those entries in a practical-advice section so an employee can find information relevant to their concern without starting with a mental health label.

Decide how updates will happen

After training, nominate someone to maintain the local information and the internal first-aider contact list. Use a review date and current provider pages, rather than leaving a printed pack unchanged after the course finishes.

Supporting mental health at work

Why Mental Health First Aid Training is Essential

They will learn to recognise the early signs of mental health struggles, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. The training covers practical techniques for providing initial support to colleagues in need and how to confidently handle mental health crises. Participants will also learn how to direct colleagues towards professional help, ensuring mental health issues are addressed appropriately.

Course and booking questions

Find the right route for yourself or your team.

Ask our team
How is training delivered for learners in Norwich?

Our courses are delivered online. Public Level 3 training is taught live by an instructor, the short awareness course is self-paced, and the other courses are available as live online group bookings.

Which course qualifies me as a workplace mental health first aider?

Choose the Level 3 Mental Health First Aid course. The Qualsafe Level 3 qualification is awarded subject to passing all assessments. The short awareness course and Level 1 and Level 2 courses do not provide that first-aider qualification.

What does the training cost?

The public Level 3 course is £295 excluding VAT (£354 including VAT). The short self-paced awareness course is £14. Request a group quote for Level 1, Level 2 and refresher training; private in-house course options start from £650 + VAT.

Can we book training for our team?

Yes. Contact us about a private live online course. If you want to train workplace mental health first aiders, ask about Level 3. Tell us the learner numbers and preferred dates so we can discuss a suitable group arrangement.

Do I need to travel to a training venue?

No. We deliver the courses on this page online, rather than at a training venue in Norwich. For live instructor-led training, check the equipment and joining requirements on your chosen course page before booking.

Can I complete a course at my own pace?

The short online awareness course is self-paced. Level 3 and the group courses are live instructor-led training, so you attend at the arranged times.

Why should a Norwich employer distinguish young-person and adult resources?

The council’s directory lists services with different audiences, including Mancroft Advice Project and the Wellbeing Service. Clear labels help colleagues find an appropriate starting point without assuming that every listed option is open to everyone.
