Following up mental health training in Liverpool

Liverpool City Council’s Live Your Life Well information includes a mental health page and a Kind to Your Mind Liverpool section. These named local resources can help an employer make follow-up information more useful than a list of national organisations alone.

Add a Liverpool information route

Introduce the council’s mental health page in your internal support pack and explain where staff can find it. Keep the resource name intact so colleagues can recognise it when searching independently or returning to the information later.

Make local information optional

Share external resources with everyone rather than only handing them to somebody who has disclosed a concern. That lets people explore information privately, including staff who may prefer not to begin with a workplace conversation.

Support the trained colleagues

Agree how first aiders can discuss questions about their role with the appropriate person in your organisation. Set a review date for the arrangements and check that staff understand where the first-aider role ends and management responsibilities begin.

Supporting mental health at work

Why Mental Health First Aid Training is Essential

In today’s fast-paced work environment, mental health is as important as physical health. As awareness of mental health issues continues to grow, businesses are recognising the need to equip employees with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively. Our Mental Health First Aid Training ensures your team is prepared to offer support, create a healthier work environment, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.

What You’ll Learn in Our Course

During the course, participants will gain a thorough understanding of mental health and how it affects individuals in the workplace. They will learn to recognise the early signs of mental health struggles, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. The training covers practical techniques for providing initial support to colleagues in need and how to confidently handle mental health crises. Participants will also learn how to direct colleagues towards professional help, ensuring mental health issues are addressed appropriately.

Investing in Mental Health First Aid Training brings significant benefits to your organisation. Employees trained in mental health first aid contribute to a supportive and safe work environment, helping reduce absenteeism and staff turnover. Course and booking questions

Find the right route for yourself or your team.

Ask our team
How is training delivered for learners in Liverpool?

Our courses are delivered online. Public Level 3 training is taught live by an instructor, the short awareness course is self-paced, and the other courses are available as live online group bookings.

Which course qualifies me as a workplace mental health first aider?

Choose the Level 3 Mental Health First Aid course. The Qualsafe Level 3 qualification is awarded subject to passing all assessments. The short awareness course and Level 1 and Level 2 courses do not provide that first-aider qualification.

What does the training cost?

The public Level 3 course is £295 excluding VAT (£354 including VAT). The short self-paced awareness course is £14. Request a group quote for Level 1, Level 2 and refresher training; private in-house course options start from £650 + VAT.

Can we book training for our team?

Yes. Contact us about a private live online course. If you want to train workplace mental health first aiders, ask about Level 3. Tell us the learner numbers and preferred dates so we can discuss a suitable group arrangement.

Do I need to travel to a training venue?

No. We deliver the courses on this page online, rather than at a training venue in Liverpool. For live instructor-led training, check the equipment and joining requirements on your chosen course page before booking.

Can I complete a course at my own pace?

The short online awareness course is self-paced. Level 3 and the group courses are live instructor-led training, so you attend at the arranged times.

Which Liverpool resource can sit alongside our employee support contacts?

Liverpool City Council’s Live Your Life Well mental health information includes Kind to Your Mind Liverpool. It can provide a local starting point, while your own staff pack explains internal contacts and the arrangements for speaking to a workplace first aider.
