Huddersfield falls within the Kirklees council area, so Kirklees mental health information is a useful local starting point. The council separates general support information from resources for children and young people. A workplace plan should make those audiences clear rather than sharing a single unexplained list.
Use the council’s Find mental health support section when checking local options. Describe it as a directory of information, then let employees check the service that interests them rather than promising access through a training certificate.
Some colleagues may be looking for help for themselves; others may be supporting a young person. Keep these routes visibly separate in your internal pack so that the intended audience of each resource is easy to understand.
Before announcing your trained first aiders, agree where conversations can take place and who handles concerns about work. Make the arrangements accessible to staff away from a desk, and provide a contact route when a named first aider is unavailable.
In today’s fast-paced work environment, mental health is as important as physical health. As awareness of mental health issues continues to grow, businesses are recognising the need to equip employees with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively. Our Mental Health First Aid Training ensures your team is prepared to offer support, create a healthier work environment, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.
During the course, participants will gain a thorough understanding of mental health and how it affects individuals in the workplace. They will learn to recognise the early signs of mental health struggles, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. The training covers practical techniques for providing initial support to colleagues in need and how to confidently handle mental health crises. Participants will also learn how to direct colleagues towards professional help, ensuring mental health issues are addressed appropriately.
Investing in Mental Health First Aid Training brings significant benefits to your organisation. Employees trained in mental health first aid contribute to a supportive and safe work environment, helping reduce absenteeism and staff turnover. A mentally healthy team is more engaged and productive, and the training demonstrates your commitment to employee wellbeing. The course is accredited, meaning it meets the highest standards and is recognised across the UK.
Our training is delivered by experienced, qualified instructors who bring practical expertise to each session. We focus on making mental health support accessible and actionable, enabling your team to confidently help each other. By choosing our training, you will ensure your team is well-equipped to address mental health concerns and promote a positive work environment.
Our courses are delivered online. Public Level 3 training is taught live by an instructor, the short awareness course is self-paced, and the other courses are available as live online group bookings.
Choose the Level 3 Mental Health First Aid course. The Qualsafe Level 3 qualification is awarded subject to passing all assessments. The short awareness course and Level 1 and Level 2 courses do not provide that first-aider qualification.
The public Level 3 course is £295 excluding VAT (£354 including VAT). The short self-paced awareness course is £14. Request a group quote for Level 1, Level 2 and refresher training; private in-house course options start from £650 + VAT.

No. We deliver the courses on this page online, rather than at a training venue in Huddersfield. For live instructor-led training, check the equipment and joining requirements on your chosen course page before booking.
The short online awareness course is self-paced. Level 3 and the group courses are live instructor-led training, so you attend at the arranged times.
Kirklees Council’s mental health support pages are the relevant local starting point. They include a general support route and separate information for children and young people. Check the current provider details rather than assuming every listing fits every colleague.
