Hastings Borough Council’s Other help and support page covers both practical advice and mental health information. It names Hastings Advice & Representation Centre for welfare-benefit advice and signposts NHS Talking Therapies East Sussex. That range is useful when preparing follow-up information for employees.
A staff support pack can contain a separate entry for HARC alongside mental health resources. Make clear what each organisation does, so colleagues can identify help with a practical question without having to disclose it to their manager.
The council signposts East Sussex services as well as Hastings organisations. Keep those names intact rather than relabelling everything as a town-only service. Check the provider’s current arrangements for the person’s circumstances before recommending a specific route.
Agree how workplace issues raised in a conversation will reach the appropriate manager. Your local information list can support signposting, while decisions about workload, working arrangements and organisational follow-up need a clear internal route.
In today’s fast-paced work environment, mental health is as important as physical health. As awareness of mental health issues continues to grow, businesses are recognising the need to equip employees with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively. Our Mental Health First Aid Training ensures your team is prepared to offer support, create a healthier work environment, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health challenges.
During the course, participants will gain a thorough understanding of mental health and how it affects individuals in the workplace. They will learn to recognise the early signs of mental health struggles, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. The training covers practical techniques for providing initial support to colleagues in need and how to confidently handle mental health crises. Participants will also learn how to direct colleagues towards professional help, ensuring mental health issues are addressed appropriately.
Investing in Mental Health First Aid Training brings significant benefits to your organisation. Employees trained in mental health first aid contribute to a supportive and safe work environment, helping reduce absenteeism and staff turnover. A mentally healthy team is more engaged and productive, and the training demonstrates your commitment to employee wellbeing. The course is accredited, meaning it meets the highest standards and is recognised across the UK.
Our training is delivered by experienced, qualified instructors who bring practical expertise to each session. We focus on making mental health support accessible and actionable, enabling your team to confidently help each other. By choosing our training, you will ensure your team is well-equipped to address mental health concerns and promote a positive work environment.
Our courses are delivered online. Public Level 3 training is taught live by an instructor, the short awareness course is self-paced, and the other courses are available as live online group bookings.
Choose the Level 3 Mental Health First Aid course. The Qualsafe Level 3 qualification is awarded subject to passing all assessments. The short awareness course and Level 1 and Level 2 courses do not provide that first-aider qualification.
The public Level 3 course is £295 excluding VAT (£354 including VAT). The short self-paced awareness course is £14. Request a group quote for Level 1, Level 2 and refresher training; private in-house course options start from £650 + VAT.
Yes. Contact us about a private live online course. If you want to train workplace mental health first aiders, ask about Level 3. Tell us the learner numbers and preferred dates so we can discuss a suitable group arrangement.
No. We deliver the courses on this page online, rather than at a training venue in Hastings. For live instructor-led training, check the equipment and joining requirements on your chosen course page before booking.
The short online awareness course is self-paced. Level 3 and the group courses are live instructor-led training, so you attend at the arranged times.
The council’s support page includes local practical advice, including HARC, alongside mental health information. A short directory that distinguishes these purposes is more useful than treating every concern as requiring the same type of support.
